According to the regulation passed by the Consell de la Generalitat Valenciana,(a department of the Valencian Autonomous Government) the following are the main functions of the Valencian Community Council of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation:
INSTITUCIONAL FUNCTIONS
• To represent the Valencian Community Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of the in front of the autonomous institutions.
• To advise the Autonomous Administration on issues related to commerce, industry and Navigation. This can be done both independently or when required by the Administration.
• To cooperate with the Autonomous Administration developing studies, projects and actions focused on the promotion of commerce, industry and Navigation.
• To inform about the developing of laws created by the Valencian Public Administration.
• To propose the reforms it considers necessary in order to defend and promote commerce, industry and Navigation.
CORPORATE FUNCTIONS
To coordinate and promote actions related to the Valencian Community Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation especially in the following areas:
• Promotion and support of the international commerce and the internationalization of the companies.
• Business Training.
• Business Information.
• Development of studies and statistics about issues related to the business activity and productivity.
• Development of studies and proposals related to the organization of the commerce activity.
• Development of services that benefit the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation.
MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS
• To manage public programs focused on providing help to the companies.
• To manage public services.
• To carry out the administration functions assigned.
• To participate in the common services and infrastructural issues that affect the Valencian economy.
PARTICIPATION IN AUTONOMOUS INSTITUTIONS
As representation and consulting entity of the Autonomous Administration, the Valencian Community Council of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation is included in the following institutions:
• Economic and Social Comitee of the Valencian Community (Comité Económico y Social de la Comunidad Valenciana).
• Consulting and Participation Council of Environment (Consejo Asesor y de Participación de Medio Ambiente).
• Consulting Council and Direction Comitee of the Institute of Small and Médium Valencian Industry (Consejo Asesor y Comité de Dirección del Instituto de la Pequeña y Mediana Industria Valenciana, IMPIVA).
• Consum Valencian Council (Consejo Valenciano de Consumo).
• Fairs and Congress Institution of Alicante (Institución Ferial Alicantina).
• Valencian Council of Statistics (Consejo Valenciano de Estadística).
• Tourism Council of the Valencian Community (Consejo de Turismo de la Comunidad Valenciana).
• Valencian Stock Exchange Foundation (Fundación Valenciana de Estudios Bursátiles).
• Special Comisión for the Implementation of the Euro (Comisión Especial para la Implantación del Euro).
• Assesment Council of Cooperation with Countries in Development Process (Consejo Asesor de Cooperación con Países en Vías de Desarrollo).
• Valencia Fair (Feria Valencia).
• Valencian Commerce Observatory (Observatorio del Comercio Valenciano).
• Inmigration Discussion Group (Foro Inmigración).
• The Observatory of Valencian Civil Law (Observatorio de Derecho Civil Valenciano).
