The Valencian Community Council of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation, is formed by the Chambers of Commerce of Alcoy, Alicante, Castellón, Orihuela and Valencia. Constituted formally by Decree 81/1996 on the 26 April by the Council of the Valencian Government as “a consultative body to collaborate with the Valencian Governement and related autonomous institutions and to represent, relate and coordinate the Valencian Community Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Navigation”.
The constitution was ratified with the express acknowledgement of the Council within the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation Law, approved by the Valencian Government on the 4 December, 1997. Since then, the Valencian Community Council of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation is unique in Spain as being the only one regulated by the law.

On the 15 October 2001 the Valencian Government published the Decree 158/2001 that approved the Regulation of the Official Chambers of Industry, Commerce and Navigation and its Council
Developing the statutory provisions of Law 11/1997 related to the local territory, organization, functions, electoral process, economic governance and budgeting and institutional and inter-chamber relations of the Official Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation and Valencian Community Council of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation.

The governing bodies and administration are: The Plenarary Comittee, the Executive Committee and the President. Within these bodies the five Official Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation who form the Council are represented: Alcoy, Alicante, Castellón, Orihuela and Valencia.
The Official Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation
are centenarian institutions deeply rooted within the
Valencian economic sectors and with direct experience
of the related business problems, gathering experience
and knowledge of the Valencian Economy. The Valencian Community Council
of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation
has as its mission:
• Coordinate the joint actions of the Official Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation,
• Communicate the policies of the Valencianan Government to companies,
• Act as an economic catalyst from within the fabric of business and economy.
The objective of the Valencian Community Council of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation is to dynamize the Valencian economy through different ways such as information campaigns, training, promotion of both internal and external commerce, cooperation, environment, transport, artisan goods and industry. Many of these activities are achieved through programs and agreements with the autonomous administration.
